Om mig

Mitt foto
Askim, Göteborg, West coast, Sweden
I am a woman "in the flower of my age". My great hobby is making silver jewellery out of silver clay and sterling silver. Sometimes I sell some too, because I cannot use it all myself. Other interests are SEVEN gorgeous grandchildren - nine with my husband's two, gardening, books, kayaking, photo... I write this blog in English to keep up the language after my retirement. I was a teacher in English and French for 18 years (so I ought to have a blog in French too...) and assistant head at a school for 15 years. My second blog shows my handmade silver jewellery. http://lillemorssilversmycken.blogspot.com

Silver...

Den här bloggen vilar sig som ni sett. Kanhända vaknar den till liv en dag.
Min andra blogg på blogspot,
http://lillemorssilversmycken.blogspot.se
använder jag fortfarande.
Här kommer lite silverbilder.
Det är silverskrot som jag smält.
Jättespännande!

This blog is at rest.
I use my silverblog more -
address above.
The Pictures show melted silver pieces.

Warm and early spring!

The weather has been quite warm and sunny for several days now towards the end of March. Some of the blue crocuses have escaped the dear deer ;-). They don't like the yellow ones but still they pull up a few, as you can see in the last photo. Felix is taking a nap between two future plant "boxes" and Alexander and his big sister Leonora are enjoying the nice weather on the terrass.

Frozen tears...

I caught the drops just before the snow came. Now they are gone...
The mahonia has got some icy lace on its leaves.

Pictures from Hurghada

We spent a week in Hurghada, Egypt in January.
It is nice to get away from the darkness and the chill...

Put some colour on your silver!

The enamel I have used is one that only has to be heated to 100 degrees to melt.
That means no oven needed. It's tough work to get the powder where you want it and not beside!

Heuchera - Alunrot

I like the leaves of the Heuchera. They come in many different shades of green and red.
And they also come in silver actually! I made the earrings from silverpaste applied in several layers directly on to the leaves.

Kissing party!

Not a very good photo technically - it was getting dark, and I didn't dare to use the flash...
They do eat a lot in the garden, but the calves are still very cute...

More flowers...

Today I took a closer look at the garden - one flower here, one there -
I got a pretty bunch of flowers in the end!
Click on the picture to enlargen - it's worth it!

Still bright colours in the garden.

But for how long?
The red bush in the background is a blueberry bush the blue is an October "stormhatt",
aconitum carmichelii. Below a close up of the blueberry.

Our cedertree has been shaped up. Some twigs pointed too far out and we also have to keep it down.
I could become 30 meters... We don't want that!

Amigurumis

Now that autumn is here there will be more time for crocheting amigurumis. My grandchildren adore them. Below two films from Youtube showing how to make amigurumis.

New favourite...

Rings made from silver clay with oxide to bring out the pattern.

Bikes

We were in Amsterdam in May. We knew that the Dutch like going by bike - but not to what extent...

Near the railwaystation there was a huge two-storeyed garage for bikes. How on earth do they find their bikes, when they want to go home? Lots of bikes were equipped with boxes of different kinds. The big long boxes were used for transporting children. I met a father with the box filled with kids, but I didn't have my camera ready! Pity. It was such a sight...
The last picture shows my husband with our bikes. (In Maisons-Lafitte outside Paris). We had helmets of course! We didn't see many helmets in Amsterdam...
